Dominican Juan Lopez, NYC hero

New York.- Dominican Juan Lopez, 23, in a daring move which also put his life in danger, managed to save from an undercover New York City police officer from an excruciating death, when the officer’s vehicle collided and caught fire on a street in Brooklyn.

For his selfless feat NY Public Defender’s Office director Letitia James recognized his effort, and awarded him a plaque accrediting him as a hero.

Lopez thanked the official for the recognition, but rejected the label of hero, noting that he did what he thought correct at a difficult moment.
