Dominican-Interpol captures Italian wanted on terrorism, murders

Santo Domingo.- Dominican police agents assigned to Interpol on Thursday captured an Italian fugitive wanted in his country on charges of terrorism, two murders, illegal weapons and resisting arrest.

Gianpaolo Albertini, 57, was detained in a street in the highland city of Jarabacoa, on an international arrest warrant issued in Nov. last year.

The police said they’ve searched for Albertini since September last year, in coordination with Interpol in Rome, adding that he faces up of 24 years in prison if convicted in Italy, where he’ll be deported to in the next few hours.
