Dominican Republic officials ‘work urgently’ on naturalization bill

Santo Domingo.- In less than 24 hours president Danilo Medina met twice with Interior and Police minister José Ramón Fadul; legal adviser Cesar Pina and Central Electoral Board (JCE) president Roberto Rosario, to discuss the bill to create the Naturalization Law.

The first meeting Tuesday night was followed by another yesterday noon, both in the National Palace.

Although the officials declined to provide details, it was learned that they’re urgently working on the draft, since the Haitian authorities placed sending the bill to Congress as a condition to continue the high level talks.

Fadul and Pina affirmed that there’s still nothing definite on the preliminary draft and that the Government continues the consultations with sectors related to the issue.

The officials spoke separately to reporters after meeting with Medina at the National Palace
