Haiti, Dominican officials boost fight against drugs jointly

Santo Domingo,- National Drugs Control Agency (DNCD) president Julio César Souffront and Haiti chief of Police Godson Arelus met at DNCD headquarters where they announced stronger cooperation and a review of agreements between the two Governments in the fight against drug trafficking and money laundering, to prevent te entry of drug cartels and organized crime in Hispaniola.

The officials stated their willingness so that both countries bolster cooperation for improve the results in the fight against drug trafficking.

He reaffirmed the DNCD’s commitment to assist Haiti with logistics, communications and information and strategy exchange. "We’re confident the measures will definitely become a retaining wall against the terrible scourge of drugs that constantly threatens the peace and tranquility of our Dominican and Haitian citizens."

Souffront placed the Agency’s K-9 training center at the disposal of Haiti’s authorities, its operational and logistics capabilities as well as its Academy to train Haitian anti-drug agents and other available means to combat drug trafficking together.
