Medina seeks leaders’ views for a sweeping naturalization bill

Santo Domingo.- President Danilo Medina Thursday said he doesn’t want to disclose anything about the naturalization bill because he needs to hear the opinions of the various leaders to integrate them into the most comprehensively possible legislation.

He said he receives ideas from the various political leaders, which he affirms will take into account when writing the bill.

The chief executive spoke after meeting with minority pro-government PRSC party leader Federico Antún at his residence in the capital.

Antún, after thanking Medina for the visit, pledged support for the legislation, as the president announced today.

He said the President’s intentions form part of nationalism, national sovereignty and Christian humanism, in reference to the Haitian immigrants. "We must resolve the human drama that affects men and women who live with us."

After speaking with the PRSC leader, Medina visited the head of the minority pro-government FNP party Marino Vinicio Castillo in his Law Office in the capital.
