Taiwan donates motorcycles for 911 emergency system

Santo Domingo.– Presidency chief of staff Gustavo Montalvo and Public Health minister Freddy Hidalgo received yesterday the first 90 of 960 motorcycles donated by the Government of Taiwan, to implement the 9-1-1 national emergency and security system.

Taiwan ambassador Tomas Ping Fi Hou headed the donation, and said the rest of the motorcycles will continue to arrive in the country before the year ends, in addition to 100 ambulances, a 30-passenger bus and their spares.

Hidalgo thanked the government of Taiwan and said that some of the motorcycles will be operating during Easter Week to face possible emergencies. "The vehicles will facilitate a rapid access to the site of the emergency, even to places where it is impossible for ambulances to have access."
