My condolences to the family.

Unfortunately, I believe her death could have been preventable.
One key evidence was her weight. I saw her frequently on TV interviews and it was clearly obvious her weight was an issue and not what it should be for a women of her age or any age for that matter. I am almost certain she did not take the necessary precautions to preserve and keep herself in peak health. Sonia was still relatively young and full of life to have left this world so soon.

Nevertheless, she is gone now and a great loss to our country. She will be missed.

When you get over your grieving then perhaps you will be a bit more rational and we can discuss the issue further in a calm and compose manner. But to give you a head start, death due to "a massive stroke and two heart attacks" as the article clearly stated are without question of a doubt diet related and preventable. And it is not at all unusual for people to dismiss medical advice and refuse to make personal sacrifices to change and adjust lifestyle to best favor their health. However, just because she failed to adequately follow doctors order does not change her intellectual capacity and kind heart. That is besides the point

Mr. G,

You owe no explanation to this little dick cuban terrorist. I doubt very much he ever heard of her until today, especially since she traveled in leftist circles......but you know how the cuban Fascist exiles are pathological liars and even with the most mundane of daily life.

Josehaitiano ..

Everyone knows of her dissolute life in her youth !

Her personal life was not our business !

However, she vindicated in later life !

Let her be, she can no longer defend herself from your accusations !

She was a great artist and performer !

"Last name seems Haitian"
--------------

It isn't.

Silvestre = gown in the wild, referring to plants and vegetables.

For example : wild flower, Spanish translation = flor silvestre.

guillermone,

You have no idea what health issues she might have been dealing with. Every day perfectly healthy people keel over and die.

You ignorant pronouncement about her weight is based 100% on nothing factual.

How can you have a discussion if you have already come to your own conclusion without any facts?

Adios Sonia recordando algunas de tus canciones;

Por qué llora la tarde

Qué será de ti

Dónde podrés gritarte que te quiero

Ojalá

Si pienso en nuestras canciones

Yo quiero andar

Abrázame fuerte

Esta es la primera vez

*Descansa en paz.

guillermone,
How can you have a discussion if you have already come to your own conclusion without any facts?
--------------------------------------
How can you talk with someone who has already pretty much made up their mind? You are right and I am wrong. If that is the case, then what is the use. You can never have a level headed discussion with anyone with that kind of a mindset.

Lets just say, that perhaps I may not have all the facts, and what I have stated might just be conjecture. However, it is an opinion based on scientific fact, a heart attack or stroke is preventable.

Medical research shows that a number of things make us more likely to have a heart
attack or stroke. These are called risk factors.
Some risk factors are linked to choices we make in the way we live. The three
most important lifestyle factors are:
• smoking and other tobacco use;
• unhealthy diet; and
• lack of physical activity
Written by: guillermone, 20 Apr 2014 9:06 PM
From: United States, Bring Back DT Forum

Poor lifestyle choices can lead to three serious physical problems:
• high blood pressure (hypertension);
• high blood sugar (diabetes);
• high blood fats (hyperlipidaemia).

These are the most important risk factors for heart attacks and strokes.
Throughout large parts of the world, tobacco use is on the rise. People are
also becoming overweight in many countries as a result of being less active
and eating more food that is high in fat and sugar.

So let take this negative and turn it into a positive, learn a new lesson so that thousands more can enjoy a higher quality of life by just following a few recommendations which will lead to a healthier and longer life span.

guillermone,

Anybody can pull out stats suing google

But

Do you have any proof whats so ever that Ms. Silvestre's death was caused by her weight?

Proof....Not assumptions.

Actual proof!

Have you read her medical report? Sat in on the autopsy?

You don't even know what she actually died of do you? All the report said was that she suffered a stroke and 2 heart attacks days before.
She could have died of an embolism.
A brain Aneurism due to a defective blood vessel(Which could have also caused the stroke and heart attacks).
Hyperthyroidism which also could have been the reason for her weight problem.
You could have died from any of a myriad of congenital disorders.

So how can you sit there and make pronouncements about how her weight killed her when you have no clue what killed her?

I know.....You can do it because you are an arrogant douche.

Generoso, my top 4 favorite Sonia's songs are:

Es mi vida.

Mi tercer amor.

El arañazo (si pienso en nuestras canciones).

Por qué llora la tarde.

I grew up listening to all of those classic artists (60's 70's) national and international, thanks to my parents and aunts.

Now the little cuban terrorist is really going to go off the deep end!

Gloria eterna a Sonia Silvestre.

Silvio Rodríguez,

La Habana, 20 de abril, 2014.
