Incompetent officials bicker as commuter fend for themselves

Santo Domingo.- The government’s Metropolitan Bus Services Office (OMSA) on Tuesday said it still hasn’t retrieved the new buses from the Naval Base because they have not been able to meet with Transport Reform Office tor (Opret) director Diandino Peña.

OMSA PR José Mesa said they’ve been waiting to meet with Peña for three weeks to process the paperwork.

He said the buses are being equipped with ticket booths, turnstiles and other features in the meanwhile.

Nonetheless the new buses increasingly deteriorate at Sans Souci Port while the old ones increasingly break down on the streets stranding the passengers.
