Mobilization against chikungunya shy in Greater Santo Domingo

Santo Domingo.– The nationwide mobilization to prevent the chikungunya virus convened by President Danilo Medina did not received the expected support from volunteers, workers and public employees in Greater Santo Domingo.

The presence of employees in most of the districts of Greater Santo Domingo was low, and in some sectors there was no presence, as in the case of Katanga and Vietnam, in Los Mina, where neighbors reported no one had visited them.

The increased presence of public employees was observed in La Fe sector, where Public Health minister Freddy Hidalgo, Education minister Carlos Amarante PAHO representative in the country Lilian Reneau-Vernon headed the campaign’s opening ceremony and visited some homes.
