Dominican Republic ex leader heads ‘unofficial’ launch for presidency

Santo Domingo.- Former president Leonel Fernández surprised supporters in a Tuesday night rally where he showed up unannounced, drawing applause from an excited crowd.

The three-time President thanked those present in the activity which marks an unofficial launch of his fourth campaign for the presidency.

The speakers affirmed that Fernández, head of Dominican Republic’s ruling PLD party, will again obtain the presidential nomination for the 2016 elections.
