Santo Domingo.- Defense minister Sigfrido Pared on Monday said the major border crossings were  placed under heightened alert to keep a group of Haitian fugitives from entering the country.

He said the Dominican Army is capable of providing security along the border with Haiti, whose authorities he affirms collaborate in the heels of the Sunday night break out of more than 200 fugitives from a prison northeast of Port au Prince.

Pared said the border security agents at the crossings in Pedernales, Dajabón, Jimaní and Elías Piña have photos of the most dangerous of the fugitives.

The official spoke after receiving a recognition for the armed forces’ support of the National Technical Professional Training Institute (Infotep).

Sure they will control it with some uncle's camera sales. These military morons couldn't keep out illegal aliens so how are they going to find prison break inmates. Idiots.

If the military is capable of guarding the border, why haven't they done it to this point?
