Authorities to monitor the Haitian border with cameras

Santo Domingo.– The Dominican Army will install 450 cameras as part of a closed circuit television system which will cover the entire border with Haiti, according to Army chief of staff Ruben Paulino, who announced that the goal is to monitor all movements made from Montecristi to Pedernales.

Paulino explained that each checkpoint will have four high-tech cameras that will be connected to the Monitoring Center which opened Friday at the Army’s headquarters in Pedro Brand township. He added that 150 cameras are already in operation.
