Justice Minister staged “show” in ‘cockfighter’s’ arrest

Santo Domingo.- Presidency Antinarcotics adviser Marino Vinicio Castillo (Vincho) on Tuesday slammed the “show” staged by Justice minister Francisco Dominguez when he called Winston Rizik ‘El Gallero’ (cockfighter) the country’s most wanted and dangerous drug trafficker "when he was going to cockpits twice a week and took part in social activities."

Castillo also noted that the U.S. sought Rizik’s extradition to Puerto Rico in 1994, but the Supreme Court , then headed by Jorge Subero, claimed that the statute of limitations had expired and let him loose on the streets.

He also said Rizik is linked to several crimes, many of which he described as “serious.”

On Tuesday Monte Plata permanent attention judge Dolores Gala, the prosecution’s request, sent Rizik to three months of pretrial detention at Najayo prison.
