DNCD to probe Hard Rock Cafe Santo Domingo

Santo Domingo.- The National Drugs Control Agency (DNCD) announced that it is investigating the complaint published by Hector Romero in El Nuevo Diario, in which the journalist said that the show by the Puerto Rican band Cultura Profetica, held at Hard Rock Cafe Santo Domingo, promoted the use of marijuana.

DNCD spokesman Miguel Medina said the antinarcotics agency will meet with Romero in order to obtain more details about the complaint and take proper measures.

A person who identified himself as assistant to the DNCD spokesman, telephoned the reporter on Friday to arrange a meeting at the DNCD headquarters.

Following the report on the Cultura Profectica show, published last week in El Nuevo Diario, Romero was abruptly taken out last Wednesday from an activity that was taking place at Hard Rock Cafe, in Blue Mall, a situation that was condemned by several colleagues, the media and other sectors of society.

Hard Rock Cafe Santo Domingo presented a public apology to Hector Romero and regreted any inconvenience caused by the situation and also mentioned that during eight years the establishment has maintained an open door policy with the press.
