Auto importers take their high tax gripe to Customs

Santo Domingo.- The membersof three import associations of new and used vehicles are currently staging aprotest in front of Customs Agency headquarters against what they consider hightaxes to bring autos into the country.

Dressed in black, membersof the Anadive, Asocivu and Adesi associations and several other associationscomplained that the increase in import taxes hinders sales from the highercosts to buyers.

On Tuesday the presidentsof Asocivu, Anadive and Adeci warned of the protests, and asked presidentDanilo Medina´s intervention on fears of bankruptcies in the sector.
