Haiti, Dominican police probe Haitian’s ‘lynching’

Santo Domingo.- Two senior Haiti police officers arrived in Dominican Republic Thursday to participate in the National Police’s local investigation into the death of a Haitian on February 11, whose body was found hanging from a tree in a park in Santiago.

Police Criminal Investigations Dept. director Cesar Sena received Haiti Judicial Police director Remau Normil and Frederick Leconte, chief of Interpol in Port-au-Prince.

National Police spokesman Jacobo Mateo Moquete said the two officials came to the Dominican Republic at Dominican National Police chief Manuel Castro’s request, as observers of the investigation into the death of Haiti national Henry Cklode Jean (Tulile).

Castro said an agreement between both police departments have led to investigations in other cases related to Dominican citizens in Haiti.

Dominican Police have revealed four hypotheses in the case, but thus far has ruled out xenophobia.
