Catholic Church: Dominicans pay high price to maintain non-inclusive democracy

Santo Domingo.– The Catholic Church said that Dominicans are paying a high price to maintain a non-inclusive democracy that fails to promote or seek the common good, referring to the resources provided by the Central Electoral Board (JCE) to political parties.

The entity considered that the purpose of this funding was to prevent party activities were funded with money from dubious sources.

"Political parties have received more than 4 billion pesos from the Central Electoral Board in the last 10 years," the Church criticized through an editorial published in Camino weekly.

The publication, which will be published tomorrow, reported that over the years "we have realized the lack of transparency in the management of these funds."
