Hillary Clinton’s White House bid linked to Dominican fashion great: AP

Santo Domingo.- The decision by Hillary Clinton to run for the US presidency came while vacationing in the beachfront mansion of the late fashion legend Oscar de la Renta, AP reports Tuesday.

The wire service said Clinton decided to run for president armed with a 500-page binder, “while staying in longtime friend de la Renta’s mansion in the Dominican Republic.”

“This is just part of her life. This is the life… and yet for most Americans the idea of jetting off to a beachfront mansion in the Dominican Republic for the holidays is just very different than their experiences,” said AP, as reported by Julie Pace.

Clinton, in her presidential announcement video, declared that everyday Americans need a “champion” and she wants to be that champion.

“Hillary Clinton has embarked on a push to be a candidate of the people, but her decision to run for office came while vacationing in the beachfront mansion of fashion icon Oscar de la Renta,” added AP.

The report refers to De la Renta’s villa in the resort Punta Cana Club (east), a favorite hang out for the rich and famous.
