Five Dominicans plead guilty of drug trafficking, face 20 years

New York.- Five Dominicans including two women pleaded guilty in New Hampshire on charges of forming a powerful ring that trafficked oxycodone pills and face sentences of up to 20 years in convicted in federal court in June.

Federal investigators identified Samuel Garcia, Jennifer Núñez, Johanna Núñez, Jose Núñez and Raúl Hernández ages 59, 28, 27, 24 and 35 as the suspects, arrested after an incident in which Dominican senior citizen Lilian Alonzo was injured by an agent during a search for drugs in her home.

Alonzo, mother of Jennifer and Johanna and grandmother to their children was wounded on August 27 last year, when federal agents arrived at the apartment and was shot in the incident.

The arrests came amid nearly a year long covert operation which also used informants.

Each of the defendants faces sentences of up to 20 years in prison.
