Health authorities report 316 “probable” cases of dengue so far this year

Santo Domingo.– Public Health department of epidemiology (DIGEPI) announced that between epidemiological weeks 9 and 13, this year 316 "probable" cases of dengue were reported, with a positivity of 71%, higher than the figure in a similar epidemiological period in 2014.

According to the agency, there have been 56 probable cases of dengue in week 13 of this year, with a cumulative incidence of 10.36 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, which represents about half of what was reported in the same period in 2014.

The DIGEPI also reported five suspected cases of cholera, all people living in Santo Domingo, representing a total of 220 suspected cases of the disease so far this year.
