Colonial Zone headcount looks to boost business: Tourism

Santo Domingo.- The Tourism Ministry will count the Colonial Zone’s people and its houses to create a database and develop community projects with a positive impact on inhabitants.

“The information-gathering will be held from May 21 to June 14 by the Social and Demographic Studies Center (CESDEM),” Tourism said in a statement.

It said the census would also determine the number of the Zone’s inhabitants who work in any activity in the same area, as their main source of income, housing conditions and standard of living and compare it with information from the National Statistics Office census of 2010.

"Pollsters and supervisors will visit door to door to interview the heads of each family or household members, during around 30 minutes, so the Tourism Ministry asks the collaboration of all families of the Colonial Zone in this important initiative."
