Pope to receive Dominican bishops Thursday

Santo Domingo.- Pope Francis will receive Dominican Republic’s bishops Thursday morning, on that day starting their ‘ad limina’ in the Vatican, where each one must individually render a detailed report on their work pastoral in their diocese.

Francis will receive the prelates jointly and then in individual audiences for each bishop afterwards. The Pope will receive a report "in voce" of the Catholic Church situation in the country.

This 5-year report must be submitted to the Pope by the dioceses around the world every five years.

Santiago’s recently inducted archbishop Freddy Breton said the ad limina’ visit is always important given its direct encounter with the Pope.
