Dominican President is hemisphere’s most popular: Poll

Santo Domingo.- With a whopping 89% popularity Dominican Republic president Danilo Medina is the hemisphere’s top rated leader, according to Mexican pollster Mitofsky.

It’s also Medina’s fourth consecutive time leading the pollster’s "Outstanding" category.

The survey gave the Dominican President the highest r score, in a poll which rated the leaders of the Americas. At 75% Bolivia’s Evo Morales follows Medina

Juan Carlos Varela, of Panama, reached 69%; Rafael Correa, Ecuador, 61%; Daniel Ortega, Nicaragua, 57%; Tabare Vazquez, Uruguay, 52%; Salvador Sanchez, El Salvador; Juan Orlando Hernández; Honduras and Raul Castro of Cuba tied at 47%; Barack Obama, US 46%; Cristina Fernández, Argentina, 40% and Mexico Enrique Peña at 39%.

Among the leaders with less than 34 percent approval figure Stephen Harper, Canada, 13; Otto Perez, Guatemala 14; Michelle Bachelet, Chile 15; Juan Manuel Santos of Colombia, 16; Nicolas Maduro of Venezuela 17; Horacio Cartes, Paraguay 18; Luis Guillermo Solís, Costa Rica 19; Ollanta Humala, Peru 20 and Dilma Rousseff, Brazil, 21.
