Presidency chief of staff meets with Oversight Committee

Santo Domingo.– Presidency chief of staff Gustavo Montalvo met Friday with officials from the Education Ministry and members of the Oversight Committee who suggested to review the costs of some schools built by that entity.

The Oversight Committee, of the State Works Supervisory Engineers Office (OISOE), called the meeting to express concern about the way some processes have been done, and because they perceive a slower delivery of the information they request to the OISOE.

According to a statement released by the Dominican Presidency, after hearing the proposals and suggestions from the Oversight Committee, vice Minister of Education Victor Sanchez promised to follow up each case.

Government representatives and overseers agreed to meet again on Monday August 10 with OISOE officials to address these claims and establish quicker mechanisms between the institution and the overseers.
