Danny, first hurricane of 2015 Atlantic season, churns westward

Miami.- TropicalStorm Danny became the first hurricane of the 2015 Atlantic hurricane season,increasing its maximum sustained winds to 120 kilometers per hour, said US forecasterson Thursday.

Danny strengthened enroute to the Lesser Antilles and became a category one hurricane, according tothe National Hurricane Center (NHC), in Miami.

In a special bulletin,the CHN said that the hurricane season´s first cyclone is 1,090 kilometers eastof the Lesser Antilles and moving west-northwest at a speed of 19 kilometersper hour.

According to the CNH´smost recent projection, “some strengthening is possible for Danny during thenext 48 hours."
