Hundreds of sugar cane workers demand a pension at the National Palace

Santo Domingo.- Hundreds of elderly, former sugar caneworkers on Monday resumed their protests outside the National Palace to demand apension from the government.

The former sugarcane workers demand a pension and other benefits,marched to the National Palace where they chanted in protest.

They asked president Danilo Medina to conclude the processfor the retirement of those who haven’t obtained a pension despite having workedin state-owned sugar mills and plantations for decades.
