Court upholds 20 year prison terms for French ‘air cocaine’ pilots

Santo Domingo.- A NationalDistrict Appellate Court on Thursday upheld the 20 year prison sentence againstFrench pilots Bruno Odos and Pascal Jean Fauret, who fled to their country October28 in the case dubbed “air cocaine” by the French media.

1st Penal Chamber presidingjudge Eduardo Sanchez also separated codefendant Alain Marc Paul Castany fromthe case on a defense motion arguing health issues.

The court also appointed a courtinterpreter to assist Nicolas Pisapia, also charged with drug trafficking inthe confiscation of over 700 kilos of cocaine seized in a Falcon jet headed toSaint-Tropez in March, 2013.

Pisapia and Castany remain in theDominican Republic, where their next hearing was set for March 14.
