‘Human chain’ again demands corruption-fraught agency shuttered

Santo Domingo.- The grassroots movement Poder Ciudadano (CitizenPower) on Wednesday said it will resume at 5pm in front of the State SupervisoryEngineers Office (OISOE) the human chains to demand the end of corruption.

"This Wednesday at 5pm we will go for more, theclosing OISOE and bringing (fired director Miguel) Pimentel Kareh to justice "said coalition through the social networks.

"Tomorrow, 5pm Wednesday to demand return to HumanChain at OISOE to demand its closing…" tweeted movement spokesman ManuelRobles.

The calls to shutter OISOE emerged in the wake of thesuicide of David Rodriguez, a contractor of that agency, where a ring of loansharks and extortionists was uncovered, headed by senior officials.

Robles said OISOE is one of the most corruption-fraught governmentagencies and is assigned projects which in his view should be theresponsibility of the Public Works Ministry.
