Police nab ‘serial killers” in murder of 3 foreigners

Santo Domingo.- The National Police on Monday said itarrested four members of a "gang of serial killers" accused in theJanuary murders of three foreigners, one American, a Canadian and an an Aruban inthe town of Cabrera, María Trinidad Sánchez province (northeast)

In a report the police said it detained Jesus Maria GuzmanCruz, 27; Joel Manuel Almonte (El Gago), 25 and Victor Adolfo Polanco Rosario;and Wendiso Marino Martinez, who has a rap sheet for robbery, and in the Polanco’scase, figures with three cases f murder.

They are charged with of beating and stabbing US citizenRobert Thomas Tokarz, 70; Aruban Andrei Frances Jamine Tron, 57; and CanadianMargaret Lynn Sabloff, 66.

The report the murders of Tron and Tokarz occurred during ahome invasion at Los Farallones de Cabrera, whereas the Canadian was found deadeight days later in a wooded area of th same seaside town ??.

"The detainees admitted to having committed the actsand said that the first two stole 5,300 pesos in cash, US$150, a gold chainwore by the American…," according to the police report.

It said the detainees also confessed to the murder of theCanadian national on 8 January, after intercepting her while on her way toPuerto Plata in her vehicle.
