Immigration: 5,000+ mostly Haitian foreigners repatriated so far this year

Santo Domingo.- Immigration director Ruben Dario Paulino onTuesday said since the return process began last August more than 20,000 undocumented foreignershave been repatriated from the country.

He said more than 5,000 foreigners of various nationalitieshave repatriated this year alone, most of them Haitians.

Paulino, speaking after laying a wreath at the Altar of theNation to mark the Month of Independence, said repatriations continue normallyand that the border has been reinforced to prevent illegal aliens from enteringthe country.
