Easter Week deaths at 19, 11 involve motorcycles

Santo Domingo.- The Emergency Operations Center (COE) on Mondayreported 19 deaths during Easter Week, including five drownings and 14 in trafficaccidents.

COE director Manuel Mendez said 11 fatalities involved motorcyclesand three in other vehicles.

He said the 410 traffic accidents nationwide injured 417people, 222 were treated for alcohol overdose, with 28 minors among them and 56were treated for food poisoning.

The official said the 19 deaths in Easter Week 2016 were sixfewer than the 25 in the same period in 2015.
