Dominican Republic leader poised for a stunning win: Poll

Santo Domingo.- With just three days to the generalelections on Sunday, president Danilo Medina is poised for reelection with astunning 23-point lead over nearest rival Luis Abinader.

According to the latest surveyby pollster Greenberg released by outlet Diario Libre, Medina’s lead among likelyvoters is relatively stable, at 57 percent against 34 percent.

Medina’s lead among Dominicans who say they’ll cast a votein the polls grows to 58 percent, but two points less since April, while Abinadergains two points with 34 percent.

The intention to vote for minority party candidates fell toless than 2 percent, and the undecided remain at 2 percent.

“The nationwide survey was conducted from April 28 to May2, and designed and analyzed by Greenberg Quinlan Rosner, an internationalpollster and consultant based in Washington, DC, United States,”diariolibre.com reports.

It said 1,034 Dominican adults were interviewed for thesurvey, whose margin of error is plus or minus 3.1 percent, with a confidence levelof 95 percent.
