Medina to fest election landslide at 6pm

Santo Domingo.- President Danilo Medina and Dominican Republic’sruling PLD party will celebrate their overwhelming win in the general electionstarting 6pm, in the former candidate’s campaign headquarters on Sarasota Av.in the capital.

The Central Electoral Board’s (JCE) election results for the presidency givesMedina 61.99% with 1,571,378 votes cast, while Luis Abinader, his main contenderof the opposition PRM party has 35.18%, with 891,907 votes.

Presidency Administrative minister Jose R. Peralta tweetedMonday that the PLD suspended the festivity set for Sunday night until the JCEreleases the results which confirm his reelection.
