Several days of downpours usher in the hurricane season

Santo Domingo.- The several days of downpours will continuethrough today as a trough drags high humidity over Dominican territory, theNational Weather Office (Onamet) forecasted Wednesday.

It said the showers from the trough will continue tomorrow Thursday,when the season’s fourth tropical wave located west of the Lesser Antilles approachesthe Caribbean coast.

It said to occasionally heavy downpours with thunderstorms areexpected to continue across much of the country.

The hurricane season in the North Atlantic, Caribbean Seaand Gulf of Mexico begins today and ends on November 30, during which most tropicalcyclones form.
