Puerto Rico terror threat a ‘false alarm’ Dominican agency lifts alert
Santiago.- Immigration director Ruben DarioPaulino on Tuesday said the alerts activated amid a threat of an attack onPuerto Rico was discontinued after confirming it was a false alarm.
"We as responsible for the arrival and departures offoreigners from the country and Dominicans must to be alert,” the officialsaid.
He said Immigration inspectors at airports, ports and portswere told to conduct a second check on anyone coming from countries which aredeemed a threat.
When asked if the country has the mechanisms to determinewhether a person linked to terrorists visit the territory, Paulino saidImmigration receives information on each arriving flight as to who boards theplane and are then cleared when it lands.
