Enough is enough, please stop the hatred.
Zoom Picture

Yes, with three exclamation points to drive home the point.

The Internet has become the best tool to unmask the ludicrous. A search in Google using Dominican as the key word will produce the following news title: “Stop the lynching of Blacks by Dominican Nationalists!!!”

The article is from the website www.indybay.org, with the specific location www.indybay.org/newsitems/2007/02/13/18362534.php. (Bay Area Indymedia, CA)

“Between January and July of 2006 alone; nearly 20,000 Blacks were rounded up and dumped at the Dominican border; many of them savagely beaten, stripped of their clothing and many women raped.”

It’s this type of senselessness that stokes hatred between Haitians and Dominicans.

Americans, are smart NOT to believe the Haitian-Dominican relations reports. Also, the world is leaving the RD alone with the Haitian burden. So now, the best thing the RD can do is focus on cleaning up internal problems with quality of life from unsafe barrios where drug dealers sell to youth who will NEVER have a chance to be educated/ productive due to RD corruption. Although your wages are cheap but you will not be able to compete with China due to corruption & the impacts you don't SEE!

Some dominicans blame hatians for their poor standard of living since they cannot get a decent paying job.Pro-hatian groups think this is discrimination and say that dominicans should treat hatians the same way they are treated in the U.S.Yeah,ok,but not too long ago many black americans were protesting against illegal emigrants(latinos) claiming that they are the reason why many blacks CANT get a job.also, take a tour to a jewish owned factory here in NY,maybe you'll find more to complain about

I'm not at all racist, but many complain about the massive exportations. I'm sure money has much to do with this but i also belive that the Dominican Rep, in order to maintain its identity must also maintain its borders. A country of only 9M(itself being poor) and a neigbor with a populaton of 6M, if u do the math, 30 - 50 thousands crossing a year, how many years will it take before one side of the island is left in ruins and the Dominican culture ceases to exist.

Haitians are always playing the victim, and distoting the thuth, this is the only thing they want to do.

This is why Haiti is were it is today.
Their own lies are distroying them.

Haitians themselves are to blame for their misfortune, Dominican Republic is a poor country who can barely support its own population and therefore we have no responsibility towards Haitians. However, we must monitor the situation closely because if things are left to chance we'll find ourselves under a violent Haitian occupation for the 12th Time.

You are all not only a bunch of racist but you are also blindly disingenuous and anti Haitian.
I live in the US and I would never want to live in your country as a Haitian person. When my Haitian-American friends go to your country they are treated like kings because they carry the mighty dollar.
Even though the DR appears to be better off ,we all know that the living conditions are no different in Dominican slums than those in Haiti.
Stop spreading hate, let's build a better world.

an old dominican political trick is to divert attention from internal problems by playing the Haitian race card. Trujillo did it during the 1930's and Juan Bosch did the same in 1963 calling out the army and sending troops to the border (palma sola).dangerous ,unethical but it works.

The website of reference is not more than one of those propaganda tools intended to justify the plans of the Dominicans haters. These hatemongers can not substanciate those reports, because they never happen. Any malicious person can plant false rumors en any website. If their are unmasked they will pay the price.

Its sad how poorly we treat each other, It true misery does loves company and then loves to lash it out to those that least are able to protect them self’s. I wish to ask for forgiveness on how my countryman have treated their brothers from the other side of Hispaniola.

At this point, does it really matter whether the report was real or fake? Look at the response it gotten. Some of you should be ashamed of you self with the way you think. Haitians in DR are the equivalent of Mexicans here. People cross the border to find job because, like most of you have manage to point out, Haiti is very poor and people need to feed their family. If you find some justification in an act like this (whether fake or real) you should go see some one, you sir/madam have problems.

I love how the leftists all seem to want to go for the feel good solution of just letting an open border with Haiti exist. Meanwhile we let the culture of the D.R go down the drain.
It was already stated above. How do you expect a Nation that is already poor to sustain a nation that is even poorer!?

Comparing Mexicans coming into the US like Haitians into DR is like comparing Apples and Car Engines.

So far from each other its ridiculous to even make the connections.

Lets not forget that haiti invaded us 11 TIMES!!! when they ruled the island they tried to strip us of our dominican spanish identity. Now we have to show kindness to them?... be the bigger person?.... Hell No!

We must defend the republic at all cost and reorganized the army/government and militarize the border provincese, its the only way to stop them from entering!

The dominican/Haitian situation is not racial. It has to do with soberanity. Haitians are systematically invading our country in a "pacific way". Illegal immigration is fought fiercefully by the U. S. A. mostly against mexicans. The Dominican Republic has the same problem. Why people steering the issue into a racial one?
Remember that Spain abandoned the Western part of the island (temporarily) to solve issues of contraband in the Eastern part. This paradise was not ment for two nations.

There is no argument for this Dominican/haitian issue, the only thing that must remain in the mind od people is that we, as the legit people of this 'entire' island have never come to the western side where haitians are, to invade it in any way, meanwhile since this people were brought there about 200 yrs ago, they have contantly come over to our side disrespectfully to break our peace. Dominicans have no obligation to accept this conduct from haiti. in any event only france has a responsiblit

Isn't it so, however, that Dominicans prefer 'tips' to labour? I was told many times by tour guides that Dominicans will not cut sugar or fix roads, etc. so that physical work is left to Haitians. Is this right? If so, then there is much work for them indeed!

Dominicans do not want to cut sugar canes, fix roads or do physical labor jobs because they are better than that but when they come to the USA they are the biggest DRUG DEALER. Washington Heights in NYC is loaded with Dominicans drug dealers.

The same fear of Haitians bringing their african ancestry to DR exist today which is why you have this movement to (execute) send all Haitians back to HT. I am all for a country trying to regulate it's border and manage illegal migrants but when a country does it because of the race, color, and religion of the migrants there is a problem. No one expect a poor country like DR to solve Haiti's problems but DR must stop training Haitian rebels and sending back to disrupt HT

While i won't denied that there are a lot of drug dealers in Washington Heights of dominican background, why focus on the bad apples, john, you really have it out for us don't you. your attempts at humiliating us are not working. dominicans in new york are educating themselves and in the business world we have a lot restaurants, stores, and our economic output is increases everyday, politicians have recognize that and our presences in being felt in all areas not jus the illegals one john....

We have started to incorporate ourselves more in the american system. We even have hollywood stars born in washington Heights, plenty of baseball players and our education in the US surpasses those of puerto ricans and mexicans in the US national average. There's plenty to say about DR in america, john, and if you need names, let me know, i'll give more names of dominican success stories than this page and hold. and by they way the only haitian i know thats famous in the US in WyCliff Jean.

Let us not be immature and down grade each other. Haitians and Dominicans are overcoming their feats in the USA. There are many haitian actors, athletes, etc etc as well as dominicans. So here is where we need to see that it's the opportunity that allowed these immigrants to surpass their obstacles which would never have been realised in their respective country.

After reading all your comments, I ask myself why don't all of us include me(AfroAmerican) go home, if home is paradise? Dominican do have an identity problem and are very poor. Haitians are so proud and as the poorest in the area, works very hard and will do what need to be done(sugar cane worker)to survive. Gone to both place ,u see many doninican(women) in Haiti why? In DR you see lots of Haitians. Why can't u put your differences aside an help the area be powerful.

If Haitians are being massacred in Dominican Republic, then they should run for their lives back to Haiti, but of course they won't. Dominican Republic should get their act together and do something about all that illegal immigration from Haiti to Dominican Republic. If this continues, I predict that in 15-20 years Dominican Republic will cease to exist. Instead, it will be the Dominico-Haitian Republic.

Why should I need to pack the bags of all illegal Dominican immigrants in New England? The U.S. Immigration Dept. is the one that has to send them packing. I'm opposed to illegal immigration anywhere. From Haiti to D.R. from D.R. to U.S. I mean everywhere. That's invasion and an invitation for diseases, crime and anarchy. No one has the right to violate the immigration laws of any sovereign country.

By the way, the few Dominicans that live in this conservative state as you called it, are educated Dominicans. The ones that cherish their background yet respect other's differences. They don't impose themselves on others. They don't blast their music for their neighbors to hear. They know that when they want to listen to music, doesn't mean their neighbors have to listen to it with them. They're not loud and disrespectful. I wouldn't want my neighbors blasting hard rock at anytime of the

I have been researching & found that the Hatians were brought to DR to do migrant work & live in deplorable conditions. When they are no longer needed to do the work, they are left alongside the canefields with nothing. No way to live, no papers to get a job, not allowed to travel without papers, their children may not get birth certificates & can't get an education without one. They are stuck where they are with nothing. No matter the color, culture, ethnicity...NO humans should live this way

hi my fellow dominican, dont pay too much attention to negative writing, the world knows that dominican people are happy and verry human when it comes to helping others out. thus a line must always be drawn when it comes to any countries border. every country has the right to accept a certain amount of people, that would not affect the majority of its own working class. at this point the dominican republic should reinforce its burder because drugs and illegal weapons are being passed through here, and as the country grows we need to be safer not only from haiti but from any other country.
