Bronx, NY.- Reports that Caroline Kennedy will be asking  Governor Paterson to appoint her to the US Senate seat vacated by Secretary  of State designate Hillary Clinton, is great news for New York and to the US  Senate as a body. As a Kennedy, she will bring with her a family legacy of serving the needs of the people.

That legacy started with the family patriarch, Patrick J. Kennedy (President Kennedy’s grandfather) and continued with her father, President Kennedy, her Uncles Robert F. Kennedy (former US Attorney General US Senator from NY) and US Senator Edward Kennedy, to her Aunt Eunice Mary Kennedy to Eunice Kennedy-Shriver, Founder of Special Olympics.

I am confident and optimistic that Caroline Kennedy will not only serve New Yorkers well in the US Senate but she will be the greatest US Senator New York has had in the past decades. I urge Governor Paterson to seriously consider appointing Ms. Kennedy to the US Senate seat and allow her to  continue her commitment to helping those in need.

While several of the individuals that were rumored to be interested in the seat sat back and did not say "YES, I'M INTERESTED." Ms. Kennedy, like her father, demonstrated her bold courage and is actively pursuing this opportunity. We do not need another politician. What we need is someone who has the commitment to stand up for all New Yorkers, someone who. It is my hope that Governor Paterson appoints Ms. Kennedy to fight for New Yorkers in the US Senate.

I agree with both of you, nobody should be granted a political post just because of a surname. If this motion pass, then the US will be in the path of Latinoamericanizing itself politically, with all that this entails. In LA/C, nobody can get a political posts these days if he/she doesn't have a sounding last name or a godfather (padrino) with one, and judging by the quality of the people which get those posts, well, you know the rest.

" Here's a news flash: Not everyone truckles with doe-eyed awe at "America's royal family." Some of us don't even like the idea of American royal families. JFK and RFK had their good points, but they don't deserve the beatification they receive on a daily basis. As a man, Teddy Kennedy is hardly a role model, and as a public servant he's not much better. I, for one, don't think denying poor black kids private-school scholarships (aka vouchers) is heroic. Nor do I think his support for alternative energy, except when it might obstruct his Hyannis Port estate's views with windmills, is admirable.

Simply, the Kennedy clan is no priestly caste, serving as the conscience of the nation, and its progeny do not deserve eternal deference."

" Now, I know the comparison between Palin and Kennedy is not perfect. Each has strengths and weaknesses, and the jobs of senator and vice president aren't identical (the former actually has more responsibility, for starters).

But the comparison is nonetheless revealing. Palin's selection triggered troughs of bile, vomited up from nearly every respectable liberal quarter. A Florida congressman, and Obama surrogate, insinuated that Palin was a "Nazi sympathizer" and anti-Semite (she's not, but Caroline Kennedy's grandfather was). Her by-the-bootstraps story was ridiculed by nearly every ex-debutante newsreader and avowed "feminist" in America.

Meanwhile, Caroline, with a résumé perfectly suited to being a Kennedy and little else, is a Cinderella who deserves a Senate seat because, well, she just does.

Whatever Palin's faults, Sarah Barracuda's America has a lot more going for it than Sweet Caroline's."

Why they should anoint Caroline:

She has plenty of organizational experience. She called Mayor Bloomberg, Uncle Teddy and the NY Times about her senate seat HERSELF.

She cares about the little people, and from the balcony of her penthouse EVERYONE appears little.

She is knowledgeable about energy policy. When her chaffeur takes the limo to the petrol station, she sometimes watches where he puts the nozzle.

She's well acquanted with taxation issues. She once met Leona Helmsley at a fundraiser.
She can see the Russian Tea Room from her 5th avenue penthouse

Number of States won by: Democrats: 19 Republicans: 29

Square miles of land won by: Democrats: 580,000 Republicans: 2,427,000

Population of counties won by: Democrats: 127 million Republicans: 143 million

Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by: Democrats: 13.2 Republicans: 2.1

"In aggregate, the map of the territory Republicans won was mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens of the country.

Democrat territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in government-owned tenements and living off various forms of government welfare..." the United States is now somewhere between the "complacency and apathy" phase with some forty percent of the nation's population already having reached the 'governmental dependency' phase."

If Congress grants amnesty and citizenship to twenty million criminal invaders called illegal's and they vote, then we can say
goodbye to the USA in fewer than five years.

Vindicated after all these years, Sen. Kennedy explains how his car was also struck by a flock of Canada geese on a bridge in Chappaquiddick. "This pilot's only mistake was that he didn't wait 24 hrs before notifying his attorney."
