It should be clear to all and sundry that the only reason the USA, the United Kingdom and their allies went to war in Iraq was as a consequence of seeking to gain access to oil reserves in order to sustain a way of life back home that is threatened by the shortage and finite nature of oil reserves.

Clearly access to such supplies is necessary in the short and medium term so that alternative means of living including the use of biofuels can be developed in the long term.

The combating of global terrorism and seeking weapons of mass destruction happened to be simply a smokescreen.

Whilst Iraq should never have been invaded, the war in Afghanistan should have been brief in response to the al-Qaeda attack on the USA on September 11, 2001, given that the occurrence of such an attack is unlikely to take place once again given the subsequent tightening up of security.

Any idiot knows that the cost of this war equals more than they could have PUMPED had their equiptment been adequate which it wasn't.

Why is this BS printed on a Dominican Site is truly beyond me unless there is a HIDDEN Agenda here I am not privy to.

Perception, (Ironic name)

Let me explain something to you my history deprived friend.

Saddam ahd no problem selling oil at or even below market price before the Gulf Wars. "Western" Oil companies were already pumping crude in Iraq. He even gladly increased production when other sources in the world were curtailed.

Even after the 1st Gulf war he had no problems selling oil after sanctions were applied. Just ask the French.

So why in your world do you believe it was all about OIL?

I get it. They went in there to get access to the sand so they could rebuild their beaches after they got washed away by the global warming. Read the recent history of Iraq (the last hundred years or so) and see how many times it has repeated itself. However, if they now need the sand what can we say?

Afghanistan did not provided with a complete program for the U.S. . The reasons for invading Irak was not for oil. Oil is a compensation for the Spoils Of Wars, as are the structures of political parties and other resourses which include humans. For the U.S. it meant the expansions of its military and the increase of its military budget. If records are check we will find that with the supposed end of the cold war and the Berlin wall, the U.S. was force to closed down most of its European military bases. After 911, the U.S. reopened a new chapter which allowed them to reenlist many of the same officers and I knew some of them. Everyone only talk about how much the war has costs but not how much they have profit from it. Not only the U.S. but also its partners in wars. What does U.S. military bases provide the U.S. in Irak and Afghanistan, it provides them with logistic and a closer response rate in that area to protect its interest which are the same.

To understand the U.S., we must look at what is taking place today. The U.S. is openning seven military bases in Colombia and the reasons for this is called ALBA. They are losing control in their backyard while gaining access away from their hemisphere of greater influence and control. These governments which are part of the Alba are heading towards a mixed economy which takes into account many issues of socialism or what they call twenty first century socialism. A new cooperations between nations in trades and guarantee for the workers not to be abused by old standards. Free madical care is not view by the U.S. as a good thing, keeping prices at the reach of the lowest wage earner is not seen by the U,S, as a good thing. Many people have this same view while they pretend to be concerned or humanitarian. The true about Irak is that Saddan was reconstructing his nation after the end of a war with Iran. He asked those in Kuwait to help him in controlling the production of oil

to make it increase a couple of cents but Kuwait refuse, he asked them again and tried to persuade them but they did not listen to him. His next step was to invaded them and the Emirate of Kuwait left to the U.S. where they negotiated with government officials and next , Saddan found himself at war with the U.S. who happen to be a bigger fish. Now the U.S. has a permanent military base in Kuwait and access to Kuwaits oil. Having a military base in Kuwait was not such a great thing but expanding it further will. The thing is that everyone knew that in Irak there was not such a thing as weapons of mass destructions but everyone involved was after a piece of the cake. This is the tragedy of the world, everyone cares only of what they can get, its about needs and wants and the one with the most powers gets its NEEDS AND WANTS, everyone else gets the left over if there are any.

Thanks again Hvargas,
3 times I will say this . If Iraq was about freeing the Iraqis from the clutches of a tyrant under the banner of an altruistic humamitarian liberator , then why did Saddam respond by lighting the oil fields on fire in front of the t.v cameras instead of his people and thier cornflake supply ?
Then it was oil , but this time its the gold in those Haitian hills that the capital hill olympic committee is going after .

Hvargas,
Im not to trying to discredit you because Im sure there were many reasons behind Georgies little adventure , and although I believe that black gold was the pulse of the operation, I have no doubt that these other points you have raised were just as much of a factor . Very insightful as usual my friend.

The boots on the ground did not go over the top for profit, and that is too bad. I would land on any beach or drop into any s---hole if it benifited me or my people. Unforturetly it only benefits a few at the top, like all the garheads landing in banana republics in the last centry for what,\...sugar companies,,,now it's oil compaines, ceo's think they have a private army just because they donate bucu bucks to some slimball or other. Regan belived in trickle down, so do I, , how about nationizing the oil in countries were we lost men and selling it here, at a reduced price( like Chavez) to pay for the war debt. After all we are unpaid mercs now, only the big corparations can take booty and rape and pilage in the name of ( fill in the blank).
