NEW YORK.- A Dominican woman that traveled a few weeks ago to her country seeking to improve her physical attributes is in critical condition in a Yonkers hospital, as she returned with infections contracted following a Liposuction surgery practiced by Dr. Edgar Contreras.
The female’s husband who refused to be identified, stated that the lady had to be taken to the emergency ward of San Juan Riverside hospital in Yonkers, and was admitted and diagnosed with a severe infection, after 27 days of suffering in Dominican territory.
The husband explained that he did not want to reveal the couple’s identity for security reasons. “He practiced a surgery that totally destroyed her; it [the surgery] finished her.”
He added that his spouse was very critically ill. “I pray to God that he will bring her out of this situation,” said the man as he was interviewed by a Spanish-speaking TV channel in the ‘Big Apple’.
According to reports coming from the Dominican Republic, Dr. Contreras is involved in various deaths of patients who became infected after he practiced surgery procedures. One of these cases was the death of ex-consul Maria del los Angeles Morel, who died in Newark, New Jersey some months ago.
Dr. Contreras’ medical intervention on the infected female took place at the Cruz Dorada clinic in the province of Santo Domingo.
Another Dominican who perished from infectious post surgery illness was the Isabel Vargas, newspaper reporter, who traveled from her home in Puerto Rico to her native country for a similar medical treatment.
Contreras has been previously arrested for mal practice.
