Santo Domingo.- The Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) today announced the winners of its contest in the categories: Photography, Short Film, Documentary, Novels, Short Stories, Poetry, Essays and Journalism.

Culture minister Jose Rafael Lantigua and the competition's jurors opened the envelopes in the presence of Funglode communications director Iban Campo.

The organizers received 446 works: 109 poems, 230 short stories, 18 short films, 28 reportages, 21 photographs, 5 documentaries, 13 essays and 22 novels.

In Journalism the winners are Riamny Méndez and Linda Valdez, of Clave Digital; in Photography, Category black and white: Fausto Ortiz; color, Miguel Cruz, and in Short Film, “María Montez,” by María José Ripoll took first place, among other winners.

WoW, sorry I missed this occassion.
