PRESS RELEASE

SANTO DOMINGO.- The leading carrier in the Dominican Republic, JetBlue Airways*, continues to consolidate and grow its operations and awareness on the island. However, this time, it wasn’t at a major airport. Instead, the airline has focused on two public schools in Ciudad Nueva, Santo Domingo, and San Jose de Las Matas, schools they visited to paint classrooms, meet students and teachers, and share experiences with local community members.

JetBlue has more than 20 daily flights from the four largest airports in the Dominican Republic: Santo Domingo, Santiago, Puerto Plata, and Punta Cana. The company, which started flying to the DR many years back, is already the largest carrier, and has plans to grow in the future. Its partner for this program, The DREAM Project (Dominican Republic Education and Mentoring Project), is a nonprofit foundation that offers quality education to thousands of Dominican children and promotes ongoing projects to alleviate problems within the country's education system. Together, these two organizations have established their presence in these communities working with the public schools, and making plans to improve their conditions.

JetBlue and DREAM, together with local students and teachers, painted and cleaned both schools. After a full day of working with members of the JetBlue crew, Albert Ruiz, JetBlue’s Corporate Social Responsibility Coordinator, presented to Directors Mrs. Knight and Ms. Iris Margarita Ramirez Elizabeth Urena a donation of books and JetBlue tickets to be used use in local initiatives to generate additional schools funding. In turn, these schools can create an independent sustainable model to continue developing and improving their quality.

"We are very pleased partner with the DREAM Project and to be able, together, to make initiatives like these happen," said JetBlue's General Manager for the Dominican Republic, Kelvin Pabon. "JetBlue's growth and consolidation in the Dominican Republic would not be possible without the ongoing support we’ve received from the community and are proud to reaffirm our commitment to it in return."

The DREAM Project is working with JetBlue to promote educational opportunities to more than 2,500 students across the country. JetBlue executives recognize that the Dominican Republic is much more than a tourist destination, is a country with great promise for growth and collaboration with the education of young Dominicans is a clear testimony to this.

JetBlue has joined with The DREAM Project as an Ambassador for 2010 and 2011 with hopes of reaching more children and providing a better future through educational quality.
