La Romana, Dominican Republic.- Casa de Campo’s 23 rd Annual Sugar Shooting tournament will be held in Casa de Campo’s 245 acre tropical shooting grounds from April 20 to 25.

The by-invitation-only event will take place on an open wild grass field and during tournaments up to 100 mechanical stations are set up simulating any bird that can be shot in the wild.

The clay targets that mimic quails, partridges, ducks and other birds in flight are shot overhead and from various positions and distances.

The firing range’s dominant feature is the 110 foot high standing tower, one of the world’s tallest, which launches clays up to 45 yards into the sky.

Considered one of the world’s most challenging sporting clay courses, its shooting venue includes trap, skeet, flyers and Columbaire as well as hunting for pheasant, partridge, quail and duck. other game birds, raised specifically for the activity.

This year's tournament will have the added thrill of a helicopter transport to the shooting reserves.

There will be two field shoots (Pheasant & Partridge) available and this event includes a scenic helicopter ride to Rancho Peligro in the foothills northeast of La Romana.

Rlfle and shotgun licenses ( not handgun) are quite easy to obtain:

The reference above is with regard to laser shooting and there is no restriction on this equipment.

Abc200,
Thanks for the information.
I have a 10 shot nickle plated mk-4 Enfield jungle rifle [1951 ventige restored 100%] re-chambered from the original 303 cal. to a 308 7.62x51
It's one of my best fun to shot bolt-action rifle I own.......VERY VERY accurate with military open sights up to 200 meters, but that recoil with that metal butt plate WOW ! more like OUCH !
Take care.
