Santo Domingo.– The Argentinean electro-pop band Miranda will perform in Santo Domingo as part of Imposible Tour, a show that will delight their Dominican fans on 1 May at 10 pm.
In a Global Beats promotion, the concert at the Teatro La Fiesta of the Hotel Jaragua will include old and recent hits from the multiple award-winning group.
Miranda calls their music "melodramatic electro-pop." Alejandro Sergi and Juliana Gattas, whose staged romantic histrionics fuel the group's shows, formed the group in 2001, a time when Argentina was in the midst of a dismal economic crisis, and their flashy, sexually ambiguous style and anything-goes message offered a much-needed escape to Buenos Aires clubgoers used to the more introspective Argentine rock of the '80s and '90s.
In 2002, Miranda was Argentina's top indie act, and critics proclaimed their debut album 'Es Mentira' to signal the dawn of a new era of glamour and optimism.

"Carnaval has come and gone! Plus Dominicans won't pay to see these clowns."
