Miami.- The Dominican consulate hosted a welcome cocktail for the crews of the three Dominican Navy boats which arrived in the Port of Miami on Monday.

Consul in Manuel Almánzar greeted the guests, and the crews taking part in the “Naval Cadets International Summer Training Cruise2010, “in the activity held in the Port ‘s J terminal.

Almánzar hailed the effort by Navy Chief of staff  Homero Lajara in the training of the future naval officers. “It is vital for our country to train our men and women in the Dominican Navy because they must defend our coasts from drug trafficking, one of the greatest threats to society today, and to assure that our flag continues waving freely.”

I'm greatly proud of those great men and women from our Navy, who do the job to protect our shores and destroy the drug trade.
Keep up the good job guys! we strongly support you!.

"the fake presidente beer sold in USA???"

I agree, though you would ask the Presidente people and they deny that there is a difference But we all know better. It must be that great Dominican water.

Actually this is a step in the right direction. As a retired U.S. Naval Officer, I can attest that training at sea while at the same getting some R&R in a foreign port, both work to achieve a single purpose -- which is to enhance the seamanship proficiency of the officers and men, while at the same time teaching them how to be good diplomats. Understanding our country as we do -- one can hardly argue that both traits aren't greatly needed in the DR.

I agree with you Montesino. It makes a lot of sense. I was thinking exactly what you have mentioned.

Hey, "Tu_Papa," the term "SEAMAN" is an actual rank in the navy -- and by the way, I used the term seamanship -- which refers to proficiency in the art of all things maritime, so I fail to see the Freudian slip that "Blutarsky" talks of in his post. As for your HOMO comment -- I guess you're covering the tracks of your own preference and insecurities. As for me -- nothing could be further from the truth. Admit it bro: why else would the whole seaman thing get you so hot and bothered -- were it not because you were playing pocket pool word association. The level of intellect of this page has reached a new low -- and I can't believe I took the time to respond to you -- guess I'm just as guilty.
