San Juan de la Maguana, Dominican Republic. - Employees of the Popular Bank in the South Region, executives of the San Juan Elías Piña and Azua Provinces Development Foundation (FUNDASEP), Environment Ministry workers and community representatives planted more than 5,000 pine and fruit trees in the historical section La Higuera, home to the Taino rebel chief Enriquillo, in San Juan.

They also took part in the inaugural of a 10,000 gallon aqueduct, built with funds donated by Popular to FUNDASEP in 2009, to benefit more than 50 farming families of that community.
