The film’s story unfolds as a well narrated flashback is the troubled life Luis “La Soga,” bent on revenge for his murdered father (Miguel Angel Martinez) at the hands of the “Dominican- York” “Rafa,” and for which he joined an elite unit of the country’s Police.

Luisito’s thirst for revenge can only be quelled by his unlikely romance with a local beauty played by former Miss Universe, Denise Quiñonez. It also features the popular bachatas and merengues for a soundtrack

Speaking during the premier in the Diamond Mall Cinema, Pérez said his production isn’t what most people expected. “Our film has a very real topic. It’s quite different to what has been done in our country before.”

There should be a media release of the unbiased story of "La Soga" to balance the cinematic version of this executioner.

Will this be sold on iTunes like "Sugar" I wonder. Either way, I'm glad to see more Dominican films. Can't wait to see "Tropico de Sangre."
