Santo
Domingo.– Dominican writer Leonardo de León was among the Platinum Award
Winners in the Screenplay Competition of the Oregon Film Awards 2011, where
4,000 writers from around the world competed.
With his
screenplay “Why Do Men Cheat?,” the writer took home the prize that makes him
qualify as quarter-finalist for the American Screen Writing Competition 2011,
which is organized by the Hollywood Scriptwriter Magazine and Flat Shoe
Entertainment.
De Leon's
screenplay tells the story of Albert Finn, a shop owner who realizes everyone
thinks he is a womanizer. He decides to change this image by resorting to his
childhood dream of becoming a writer.
Leonardo de León was already recognized by one of Hollywood's most important competitions, the Los Angeles Movie Awards 2011, where he won the Award of Excellence for his screenplay “Not All That Glitters is Gold,” from among some 10,000 contest entrants.

Though I gotta say, his choice of subject (though the main character may not be Dominican) does not help against the stereotype the Dominican Men are womanizers ;-)
Congratulations to Leonardo de Leon.
Good for you Leo keep up the good work. Hey Vin Diesel is Dominican or part so just join the club Dude.
Vin Diesel is not Dominican. He is of mixed European and African descent (both parents Americans for generations), but he identifies himself with Dominicans because over 70% of the Dominicans have the same/similar mix.
