Santo Domingo.- Next Thursday’s Latin Grammy Awards in Las Vegas, Nevada will once again figure with Juan Luis Guerra as a favorite to the top honors, this year competing with Mexican pop duo Jesse & Joy.

Also competing for a golden gramophone in this year’s celebration of Latin American music are the Guatemalan Ricardo Arjona, the Colombian Juanes, the Mexican Carla Morrison, the Cuban Arturo Sandoval and the Brazilians Ivete Sangalo and Caetano Veloso, all with four nominations each.

Guerra, who has sold more than 30 million albums and has won two Grammys and 12 Latin Grammys, competes in the categories Record of the Year and Song of the Year for his ballad "En el cielo no hay hospital,” (In heaven there is no hospital.)

He has also been nominated for Producer of the Year for Juanes’ latest album, Unplugged.

You mean "This" Thursday (Nov 15th)

When you say "next" you mean not this week, but next week.
