Santo Domingo.- Donning his trademark beret music icon Juan Luis Guerra met with the media  Monday night to provide details on the concert which he’ll take to the stage on Saturday June 16.

With his also trademark shyness the singer-song writer fielded several questions ranging from his preference toward bachata or merengue.

“This is something cyclical, what I see is that bachata’s turn has arrived,” Guerra said, but always defending the country’s trademark rhythm.

People wear whatever pleases them, furthurmore not all Dominicans have to wear baseball caps

as do the Central Americans Illegals in the USA(sideways),looking for mediocre jobs.

As to the beret he is wearing is typical Spaniard if you have been there

As to the Bachata instead of merengue it is what he knows best. Merengue sounds too Haitian

with 2 beats rhythm.Merengue is not the only music of DR:you have Mangulina,Bachata, merengue

Thanks to him was made popular again. I am not a conoceur of Dr historical music ,but i know

there is much more but has become extinct with the demand of a simple merengue for simple

people.
