San Juan, Puerto Rico.- Thirteen people were arrested charged with snuggling two tons of cocaine from Dominican Republic, local media reported Wednesday, citing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) spokesman Ivan Ortiz.

He said the drug had been smuggled into the island for several years, and prompted an investigation since 2009.

Twelve arrests occurred early Wednesday in Aguadilla and one in San Sebastian, elnuevodia.com said, although neither their names nor nationalities were released.

Ortiz added that the detainees were taken to the old ICE holding facility in Aguadilla, prior to arraignment at San Juan Federal Court.

riiiiiight!! 3 years latter, two tons of material and $61 million dollars($30 a gram) on the streets. Makes me wonder sometimes, who are the real criminals. The ones selling it or the ones conducting the supervision A.K.A stake-out.

Obviously these traffickers were caught because they wasted time "snuggling" those large bags of cocaine. They should have planned ahead and had some Dominican chicas ready to snuggle the cops.
